    Lord Krishna and little stories about them
    Lord Krishna is the most popular avatar of God Vishnu. According to the scriptures, God Krishna had chiefly 8 wives. In different scriptures the names of his wives are different. In Bhagvata Purana, his eight wives mentioned are Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Nagnajiti, Bhadra and Lakshmana.
    Rukmini
    Wife Rukmini is considered as the incarnation of Lakshmi and she wanted to be with her husband i.e. lord Vishnu on earth.Rukmini likes to hear from her maidens about the virtues and charm of Lord Krishna and had developed deep love for the god.
    Satyabhama
    Another wife is Satyabhama who is known as the incarnation of goddess Earth.Lord Krishna rescued the precious jewel syamantaka from Jambava and then he gave it to the king. The king Satrajit got impressed by his powers and asked God to marry his daughter Satyabhama.
    Jambavati
    His third wife was Jambavati and she was the daughter of Jambava who captivated the Syamantaka’s jewel but Krishna fought and defeated him.Jambava after his defeat requested God to marry his daughter.
    Kalindi
    Kalindi was the goddess of Yamuna and she was the daughter of Suryadeva.Krishna and Arjun met her on the river bank. She expressed her desire to merry lord Krishna and God agreed to fulfil her desires.
    Mitravinda
    Mitravinda was the cousin of the God and she was about to get married to Duryodhana but when Balram discovered her secret love for God Krishna then Lord Krishna abducted and married her.
    Nangnajiti
    Nangnajiti was the daughter of Nagnajita who was the king of Koshala .God Krishna tamed the seven bulls of the king and received her hand for marriage.
    Bhadra
    She was the seventh wife of the god and she was the daughter of king Dhrishtaketu .
    Lakshmana
    Lakshmana, the daughter of Madra’s king held swayamvar to find a suitable match for his daughter.Even Duryodhana and Jarashanda also tried their hands in the swayamvar but it was Lord Krishna who won her hand.
